Madison's Miracle
Madison is an awesome girl that I met last night at church. I was helping with an activity for the youth on family history, and she seemed really cool. I asked my friend Jessica Rowland about her and found out that she just joined the church this year. Here's a little bit of her story that I'm sharing with her permission.
So, she's in high school, and she decided that she wanted to join a church. Her parents told her she could but that she would need to try a few churches before she picked one. One day she saw a Book of Mormon on her the teacher's desk in her study hall classroom. The teacher had been given that Book of Mormon by a guy named Matt who goes to church with my parents. So, Madison decided to try the Mormon church. She came and loved it, and one of the girls at church, Rachel, befriended her. Madison's parents tried to get her to try other churches too, but she said she convinced them to let her join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons).
Three things I love about this story.
1-maybe Matt hoped that his teacher would join the church, but even though he didn't, because Matt acted in faith there was a miracle.
2-Rachel befriended Madison. We all need friends, and we all need to be friends. By being someone's friend we can make a huge difference for good in their life.
3-Madison chose for herself to seek out Jesus Christ. No matter what our religious background is or our family situation, we choose the course of our lives.
Thank you for your example Madison!
