Miracle #2 of #26
Another of Heather's roommates, Oakli, is headed to the missionary training center this week before heading to Brazil for a 18 month mission. Her father is the author of one of my favorite books Christmas Jars, and he wrote a blog post about my sister Heather's fall last year. He had an article published in Deseret News about Oakli going on her mission here.
Oakli shared this miracle with me:
"I have this friend from BYU, and he had been making lots of bad decisions, drinking and drugs and what not, and I've still tried to encourage him to make better choices and then on Sunday felt prompted to fast for him, so I did, and he texted me and told me that he was at church and that about 2 weeks before that he'd quit drinking and doing drugs because he wants to get his life turned around so he can serve a mission within the next year or so! That was definitely a big testimony builder for me. And certainly a miracle in my eyes."
Fasting is going without food or drink for a period of time for a purpose - like to overcome a personal weakness, to help a friend who is sick or struggling or to find direction in making a life decision. When fasting an prayer are used together - miracles always happen (though you may not see the answer or miracle right away). Try it out!
