15th Day of Christmas
This sounds exactly like today. But it's from about 91 BC.
"For the hearts of many were hardened, and their names were blotted out, that they were remembered no more among the people of God. And also many withdrew themselves from among them."
I've seen many people leave my church this year, and in general many people I know and love losing their belief in God.
The answer comes in the next verse:
"Now this was a great trial to those that did stand fast in the faith; nevertheless, they were steadfast and immovable in keeping the commandments of God, and they bore with patience the persecution which was heaped upon them." (Alma 1:25-26)
Believing in Christ can help us bear our afflictions, persecution and sadness. Even though it is the Christmas time, there is a lot of sadness going on in the world right now. By doing kind for things others as Christ would do, we help alleviate some of that. That brings joy to the world!
